Tozan to Head Temple Taisekiji 2015

Today I remember my first Tozan that took place on September 12th, 2015, to the Head Temple Taisekiji. This photo is from Byakuren-ji Temple in honor of the Second High Priest Byakuren Ajari Nikko Shonin (1246-1333). September 12th coincides with the historical event of the Tatsunokuchi Persecution that took place on September 12th, 1271, when the Buddha Nichiren Daishonin (1222-1282) was taken to Tatsunokuchi beach to be executed. This date is also remembered in the Gonan-e Ceremony every September.
