Thomas Jerome Newton (David Bowie) are both aliens who arrive to planet Earth,
fell in love and then end up their lives tortured by government’s
experimentation.

In the case of Jaylien
the experimentation takes place in Area 51. Finally, he escapes and returns to
his home planet. By contrast, T. J. Newton cannot return to his home planet and
becomes an alcoholic.
